Praise for Eat Like A Rainbow

I can't thank you enough, on behalf of the entire Grace Day School family, for your wonderful and energetic musical presentation today of Eat Like a Rainbow.  I received so many nice compliments throughout the day, not only about the show and its great message but about your awesome guitar playing and your engaging technique with the students as well. I, personally, had such a good time moving and singing with you and I know the students and faculty did, too!  It was the perfect choice for everyone during these long, cold days of winter. I hope you and your vegetable powered van make it back to Massachusetts safely. It was a pleasure meeting you in person and I'm so glad the weather cooperated so that we could welcome you back to Massapequa as our guest. All the very best wishes as you continue your very important work and carry your message to many more schools across the country. - Fontaine Sheridan, Grace Day School, Massapequa Park, NY

Jay, the class  loved your show as did I. I was most impressed with your ability to maintain crowd control while the  kids sang and danced. The “dancing” in their seats was brilliant. You are one of the very few performers who could dismiss the classes in an orderly fashion with the usual chaos from the  excitement of the show or large group activity. Well done  on all fronts! We listened to your CD yesterday while they cut out  their fractions cards  for math. Best regards, - Pat Fleming, Teacher, Memorial Elementary School, Manchester, MA

On the 11th of January, the students of Berkshire Trail participated in “Eat Like A Rainbow” This concert, presented by Jay Mankita, was as much instructional as it was entertaining.  The children learned about healthy eating through song.  It was a delightfully energetic afternoon.  Jay forwarded pre-concert CDs and informational materials for the teachers to use to ensure that we would get the most out of this event.  It was wonderful!  Thank you for your continued support in providing programs like this for our students. - Lorraine Liantonio, Principal, Berkshire Trail Elementary, Cummington MA

LOVED the show you did today at the Warren School in Ashland! It's so engaging for the children and sends such a great message!…I already told all my parents about it and a couple of the kids told me they had downloaded it at home. Fun songs! Thanks again...it's nice, as a teacher, to know that the students saw a quality program that really makes an impact on them. - Tricia Kane, Teacher, Warren School, Ashland, MA

I wanted to thank you again for the wonderful Eat Like A Rainbow concert that you presented at Kensington Avenue School on February 24th.  The program was enjoyed by students and staff who appreciated your fun approach to learning about healthy topics.  It was great that we could clap and sing along  to your songs. Students have been learning about nutrition and enjoying fruit and vegetable snacks every week so the concert was a great way to tie it all together...

...How fortunate for us that the Massachusetts Cultural Council provided funds for you to bring the program to schools such as ours.  The timing was great, too, since the week you were here would have been our vacation if not for the October snowstorm.  Having such a fun, yet educational, assembly to attend made being in school a lot more enjoyable. Thanks again for sharing your talents with us.  I hope that we will see you again in the future. - Ann Maggio RN BSN, School Nurse, Kensington Avenue Elementary, Springfield, MA
